Since the Steampunk Era is often depicted as being in the mid to late 19th Century, we feature dances in the styles that were popular during the Victorian Era: line dances, quadrilles, and waltzes.
Some things to keep in mind when putting together your costume:
Shoes - please select shoes that will be kind to our wooden floor (i.e. no spurs or shoes with metal on the heels). Comfortable, closed, smooth-soled shoes are best for Victorian dancing.
Accessories - feel free to accessorize your costume in keeping with the Steampunk theme of the Ball. However, being that this is a dance, it is strongly recommended that you avoid anything that might fly off, poke a fellow dancer, or in any way impede your own dancing.
Location- Prof. Alexander's Steampunk Ball will be held at the Simi Valley Senior Center, Multi-Purpose Room, 3900 Avenida Simi, Simi Valley, CA. The Multi-Purpose Room is located close to the North Entrance of the building.
Steampunk Ball / Victorian Social Dancing is offered by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District in conjunction with the Simi Valley Senior Center. For more information, call:
